DANVILLE, Ky. - Champions Hall played host to an indoor track meet for the third time this season as Centre women's track & field welcomed a field of teams from all divisions to the Centre Indoor Invite and Multis. The Colonels finished in second place with 80 points, highlighted by two more record-setting performances from All-American
Chloe Hein.
In the sprints, the Colonels picked up their first win in the 60m as
Amari Robinson clocked in at 7.88 to finish first overall. Another win for Centre came in the 200m as Hein notched her first record of the day, getting the win with a time of 24.98 to break All-American
Madjo Doumbia's record mark from 2025 by 0.01 seconds. In the 400m,
Faith Peterson led three Colonels in the top eight as she finished fourth with a time of 59.80, with
Alexandria Masden and
Arden Campbell also getting into the scoring column.
The women's 800m saw
Adelyn Shupert finish seventh overall with a time of 2:28.25, followed less than half a second later by
Emma Musgrave in eighth place. In the mile it was
Sophie Bouldin who led the way for Centre with a time of 5:26.70 to finish in sixth, with Shupert and Musgrave taking the final two spots in the top eight. In the 3000m,
Gracie West finished third overall with a time of 10:37.50.
In the 60m hurdles,
Serena McNeilly got the win as she finished with a time of 9.27, with Masden taking third place in 9.36.
The jumping events began with the pole vault and
Lyla Bordwine took eighth place overall with a clear 10-8 (3.25m). In the triple jump,
Marie De Amour Manirakiza finished in eighth place with a mark of 32-9.75 (10.00m).
Next up was the long jump and it was here where Hein made noteworthy program history, setting a school record in the event for the fourth consecutive meet as she posted a mark of 20-9.75 (6.34m). It is the second best mark ever recorded in the long jump in Division III women's track & field history.
Moving to the throws,
Shelbi Valentine posted the best mark for the Centre women in the shot put as she finished sixth overall with a throw of 38-10.25 (11.84m).
