ATLANTA - The Southern Athletic Association released its weekly awards for baseball earlier today and for the second time in three weeks, the award for Pitcher of the Week went to Centre freshman
Nolan Asher.
Asher, who won his first Pitcher of the Week honor two weeks ago after his debut start against Chicago, had another excellent outing on the mound for the Colonels against Brevard on Feb. 28.
In six scoreless innings, Asher struck out ten batters to match his season high while allowing just two hits, improving to 3-0 on the year after the 14-0 Centre victory. Asher has racked up 29 strikeouts through his first three starts and is carrying a 1.02 ERA.
Centre baseball will resume play on Mar. 7-8 with a weekend series against Wabash
