Visiting Team Information

On behalf of Centre College, the athletic training staff of the Colonels extend its warmest greetings. In preparation for your upcoming journey to Centre College, the following is a list of telephone numbers and emergency information that may be of some need to you.

  • Mattie Zimmerman, Head Athletic Trainer      443-310-0050
  • T.Y. Fisher, Senior Associate Athletic Trainer
  • Kimberly Buckholts, Assistant Athletic Trainer
  • Ryan McNamara, Assistant Athletic Trainer
  • Matthew Wentz, Assistant Athletic Trainer
  • Ephraim McDowell Hospital
  • Campus Security          859-236-4357

The training room is located on the first floor of Sutcliffe Hall, and will be open approximately two (2) hours before and one (1) hour after the game. Our athletic training room is equipped with a variety of hot, cold, and electrical modalities. During your visit, please feel free to use our facilities. If your team will be traveling without a certified athletic trainer, a written prescription from a certified athletic trainer will be needed before we can administer therapeutic modalities besides heat and cold to your student-athletes. We also ask that if your team is traveling without a certified athletic trainer or athletic training student, please email or call at least one (1) day prior to your team’s arrival so that we can make the proper arrangements. The Centre College Athletic Training Staff will be willing to handle your pre-game taping, provided that your team brings its own supplies.
A Centre College certified athletic trainer will be in attendance at all home contests, as well as athletic training students to assist you if needed. Our team physicians will be on call for all contests, as will an ambulance for emergency transportation and/or advanced life support. Ephraim McDowell Hospital is approximately five (5) minutes from campus should the need arise.
A ten (10) gallon cooler of water, cups, ice bags, and biohazard waste disposal supplies will be available to your team. Additional equipment such as:  vacuum splints, knee immobilizer, and crutches will be available. We do not provide towels for the shower or water bottles, please bring your own.
We hope this information is helpful. If you are in need of any additional supplies, or if we can be of service to you in any way, please feel free to contact us. Have a safe trip, and we will see you when you arrive in Danville.
Best regards,
T.Y. Fisher, MS, ATC
Senior Associate Athletic Trainer
