Austin Sparks was named Centre College athletics' Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations in September of 2024.
Sparks came to Danville after 14 years at nearby Georgetown College. He was the Associate Director of Athletics at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) institution and the head coach of both golf programs at GC for nearly six years.Â
As the Associate AD, Sparks oversaw event management and game operations for all Tiger teams. As part of his duties at Georgetown, he served as a Mid-South Conference and NAIA conference and national tournament site supervisor/coordinator for football, basketball, baseball, softball, and volleyball. He also handled scheduling the institution's athletic facilities for internal and external use, which included partnering with Lexington Sporting Club, a professional soccer team.Â
Sparks was also responsible for managing the Georgetown athletic department budget as well as coordinating ticket and sponsor sales. The newest Colonel admin also had responsibility over fundraising and development events for athletics at GC. Â
Prior to his time at Georgetown College, Sparks was an Account Executive for the Lexington Legends, then of Minor League Baseball. He is a 2009 graduate of Georgetown where he played baseball for four seasons. Sparks and his wife, Tiffani, are the parents of son Cooper and daughter Barret.Â
