Chris Limbach

Coach Limbach has served as the offensive line coach since joining the Centre College football program in 2012. Limbach also serves as the recruiting coordinator for the Colonels.

Under Limbach’s leadership, the offensive line has had tremendous success both as a group and individually. Centre’s offensive line has paved the way for 1,000-yard rushers in back-to-back seasons, first by Harry Meisner in 2013 and then by First Team All-SAA running back Nolan Coulter in 2014. Prior to last season, the Colonels’ last 1,000-yard rusher was Kris Garrett in 1995.

Limbach and the offensive line have helped Centre set single-season offensive records in back-to-back seasons. The Colonels set a new program record for yards in a season (4,481) and total plays (833) in 2014, and yards per game (445.3) in 2013. Centre topped its previous record of 4,453 yards in a season set in 2013.

In 2012, the O-Line contributed to an offense that averaged 379.2 yards per game and 179.2 rushing yards per game.

Limbach has coached four First Team All-SAA honorees, headlined by two-time selection Steven Fortner, who was also selected to the 2014 D3Football.com All-South Region team. Fortner and teammate Ryan McDonald were also selected as Preseason All-Americans in 2013, while Tre Killian was selected to the USA College Football Division III Third Team Preseason All-American squad in 2015.

Limbach came to Centre with coordinating experience at the Division II level at Oklahoma Panhandle State University where he was Associate Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator in 2011.

Prior to his time at OPSU, Coach Limbach was a graduate assistant at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette where he worked with the offensive line from 2008 to 2010. While at Lafayette, the Ragin’ Cajuns finished seventh in the nation in rushing offense with 263.7 yards per game. That same year, they finished 13th in the country in total offense, averaging 449.2 yards per game. The 2009 Cajun offensive line gave up only 13 sacks on the season.

Limbach also spent time on the staff at Eastern Illinois University. While at EIU, the Panthers won back-to-back OVC championships in 2005 and 2006. They participated in the FCS National Playoffs for three seasons from 2005-2007.

Limbach graduated from Eastern Illinois with a degree in history. He grew up in Edwardsville, Ill., and he and his wife, Kim, now live in Danville.
