Centre College Athletics

Craig Kirchgessner joined the Centre athletic staff as assistant men's and women's tennis coach in January of 2016.

Kirchgessner posseses a wide array of tennis experience across numerous positions. He previously served as the Head Tennis Professional at Duke University for two years where he was a tennis instructor for faculty and staff.

Before his tenure at Duke, he worked at Ocean Reef Resort in Key Large, Florida, one of the world’s leading resorts. Kirchgessner also spent time as the Head Tennis Professional at Basin Harbor in Vermont.

He graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Studies with an emphasis on education. Learning the psychology of students and the ability to deliver clear messages has helped Kirchgessner transition smoothly into coaching.

A native of Floyd Knobs, Indiana, he was a standout tennis player at Western Kentucky alongside Centre men’s and women’s tennis coach Currie Martin. Kirchgessner played number one singles and doubles for the Hilltoppers.
