Kenny Gant is in his third year as an assistant baseball coach at Centre College. A Lexington native, he played his college baseball at Milligan College (Tenn.), where he was an infielder for the Buffaloes. After his playing days, he spent 15 years as an umpire in the SEC, ACC, OVC, and Sunbelt conferences.

Following his time as an umpire, Gant switched to coaching 15 years ago. He has coached at various levels, including high school, travel baseball, and all-star teams. Over the course of his coaching career, he guided six teams to World Series and won the 2003 Cal Ripken World Series.

Gant has worked with Tates Creek High School and has also served as an instructor at Champions Baseball Academy. One of his former players, Trevor Gott made his Major League debut in 2015 with the Los Angeles Angels of Aneheim before being traded to the Washington Nationals recently.

Gant works with the outfielders and base-running as well as assisting with day-to-day operations of the program.
