Tori Carlson

Tori Carlson (50-98) was named Centre's head softball coach in the summer of 2017 before transitioning into the role of Assistant Athletic Director for Development in the summer of 2023.

In 2019, Carlson's squad finished 13-23 overall, but earned marquee wins against nationally ranked Central (Iowa) and Berry. The Colonels ended up defeating the Vikings in three of four meetings between the regular season and SAA Tournament. In the shortened 2020 season, the Colonels went 5-6.

Carlson mentored eight All-SAA selections in 2019, including two Second Team picks in Sarah Aubuchon and RileyAnne Sharpe. 

In her first season, the Colonels went 18-18 overall and 9-9 in the Southern Athletic Association. She helped five individuals earn All-SAA honors, led by second team selection freshman Sarah Fly. 

Carlson spent the previous four seasons as the assistant coach at Ohio Wesleyan University. During that time, she helped the Battling Bishops make North Coast Athletic Conference tournament appearances in 2014 and 2016. As an outfield coach for the Battling Bishops, OWU posted a .973 fielding percentage with Carlson at the helm. Carlson also spent time as a hitting coach and Ohio Wesleyan batted .310 as a team during that span. 

A Cincinnati native, Carlson is a 2013 graduate of Valparaiso University in Indiana, where she was a National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar Athlete all four years and helped the Crusaders win Horizon League championships in 2012 and 2013. Carlson is a member of the most decorated senior class in Valparaiso softball history.

During summers while at Valparaiso, Carlson worked as both a head coach and assistant coach for 18 and under Ohio Stingrays travel organization, one of the top college softball showcase squads in the Midwest. Carlson received her Master's degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University in Irvine, Calif.

Besides serving as the primary camp organizer for Ohio Wesleyan softball, Carlson also organized and oversaw the Ohio Wesleyan NFCA Strikeout Cancer event, which raised thousands of dollars for cancer research.
