MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Centre men's soccer stumbled on the road Friday afternoon, falling 2-1 in a Southern Athletic Association meeting at Rhodes.
The Colonels slip to 7-4-1 overall and 0-2-1 in the SAA, as the host Lynx improve to 6-3 (2-1 SAA). It marked Rhodes' second consecutive win against Centre in Memphis, the last coming back in 2016.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Rhodes scored barely three minutes into the contest, but Centre's
Will Newton leveled the match soon after with his sixth goal of the season.
- After two goals within the opening eight minutes, the rest of the first half played out evenly and the sides went into the half tied at 1-1.
- It was much of the same for the early stages of the second period, but Pavan Ramachandria scored what became the game-winner in the 68th minute for the Lynx.
- Centre was unable to get a shot on target across the final 20-plus minutes of action.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Lynx put five of 15 shots on goal while the Colonels had four of their 10 on target. Newton had all four shots on goal for Centre.
- Centre totaled six corner opportunities to Rhodes' two.

Bailey Spade had three saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal for the Colonels.
