SHERMAN, Texas – Centre football improved to 4-1 on the year and 2-1 in the Southern Athletic Association with an efficient performance as the Colonels defeated the Austin College Kangaroos by a score of 38-20.
HIGHLIGHTS
- After a three-and-out from the defense to start the game, Centre got on the board first on their opening possession as senior Ben Logsdon connected on a 39-yard field goal.

- Austin scored on their first drive of the second quarter, but Centre responded with a nine-play, 75-yard drive, punctuated by Colin Burnam's touchdown plunge. The Roos fumbled the ensuing kickoff and Luc Gendreau pounced on the ball, giving Centre a short field. Five plays later the Colonels capitalized as Burnam scored from four yards out and Centre had a 24-7 lead.
- The Roos marched down the field on their final drive of the half and had a first down at the Colonels' 1-yard line. Ryan Smith made stops on Austin's first two rushing attempts. After an incomplete pass on third down, Cruze Kerrigan stopped Colt Collins for no gain and the Colonels turned Austin over on downs heading into halftime.
- Logsdon opened the second half scoring with another field goal. The next time Centre had the ball, Young found Thomas Jordan for the Colonels' final touchdown of the game. Punter Jake Holloway ran in for a two-point conversion and Centre had a 35-7 lead. Logsdon's third field goal of the game capped off the scoring for the Colonels.
