MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Centre volleyball team opened the Southern Athletic Association tournament with a quarterfinal match against the top seeded Berry Vikings, who defeated the Colonels in straight sets.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre kept it close in the early part of the opening set before Berry reeled off six straight points around the halfway mark, eventually winning by a score of 25-18.
- In the second set, Berry jumped out to an early lead and kept it for the duration. Centre fought off five consecutive set points, but the Colonels could not complete the comeback as Berry won 25-21.
- The second set proved to be the closest Centre would get as Berry stormed out to a 13-3 lead in the third set and never looked back, taking the match with a 25-13 victory.

Savanna Roper paced the Colonels with eight kills in the match, followed by
Peyton Vacala with seven and
Aby Dallas with six.

Kylie Cochran finished with team highs of 25 assists and 13 digs for the Colonels.
Bailey Vernon also finished in double digit digs with a dozen.
Centre finishes the 2018 volleyball season with a 7-20 record.
