DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre women's soccer opened the 2018 campaign with a 4-0 victory against visiting Mt. Union under the lights of Amend Field Friday night.
Following a delayed start, the Colonels (1-0) scored early and never looked back against the Raiders (0-1).
HIGHLIGHTS

Meghan Paynter opened the scoring a little more than 10 minutes in to make it 1-0.

Alana Hughes turned in a strong individual effort that resulted in a long-range goal from outside the 18-yard box in the 51st minute.

Kristin Dean snuck a score past the Mt. Union keeper in the 85th minute, and was quickly followed by an opportunistic goal from
Sarah Sirkin.
Brooke Smithson assisted on Centre's fourth and final tally.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Colonels totaled 18 shots – 11 in the first half – compared to the Raiders' seven.
- Each side had three corner kicks.
