DANVILLE, Ky. - Earlier today Centre head coach Greg Mason released the official 2018-19 schedule for the Centre men's basketball. The Colonels will face a combination of familiar foes and new challenges in the non-conference schedule.
The season will open on Nov. 13 with a trip to Georgia to face USA South runner-up covenant. The home opener will be the annual rivalry matchup with Transylvania on Nov. 19. The Colonels will also have return games against Spalding, Franklin and Boyce in the non-conference schedule.
Centre will compete in three separate tournaments before the calendar turns over to 2019. In late November the Colonels will play in a tournament at Kalamazoo University. Centre will face Kalamazoo and another opponent yet to be determined. After finals are over, Centre will travel to Rhodes to play Division III powerhouse Augustana in tournament action, followed by a game against Blackburn. At the end of December the Colonels will play in their third tournament as they will go to Lexington, Va. to face host Washington & Lee and then either Cabrini or TCNJ.
The Southern Athletic Association slate for the defending regular season champions will feature a four-game road trip in January and will be bookended with games against SAA runner-up Sewanee, with the Tigers hosting the regular season finale on Feb. 16.
Centre went 17-9 last season with a 12-2 mark in conference play and return nine of their top ten scorers from the 207-18 season.
