DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre men's soccer righted the ship Sunday evening at Andrew P. Amend Field, snapping a three-match skid with a 2-0 victory against Spalding.
Playing down a man for more than half of the match, the Colonels (6-3) defeated the visiting Golden Eagles (7-2) for the second season in a row and fourth time in six all-time meetings.

Xavier Tomlin gathered a loose ball in front of goal and put away the game's opening goal in the 27th minute, good for his first of the year.

AJ Jallow nearly doubled Centre's lead in the 32nd minute, but his shot glanced off the far post.

Carson Hart picked up a second yellow in the 37th minute, leaving Centre a man down the rest of the way.
- Spalding's best attempt of the first half came from Kornell Hilliard, one of Division III's leading goal scorers, but
Bailey Spade was equal to the task.

Royce Pope added Centre's second goal in the 57th minute following a well-orchestrated attack, netting his first goal of the season.

- Centre attempted 24 shots with 11 on goal compared to Spalding's five total and two on frame, each of which were saved by Spade. Playing with 10 men, the Colonels held Spalding to one shot in the second half.
