MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The ninth-ranked Centre women's soccer team controlled possession and walked away from Bob Pearson Field with a 1-0 victory Saturday afternoon against Berry.
Abby Hegarty's first half goal proved to be the only marker needed for the Colonels, who improve to 14-0 overall and 2-0 in the Southern Athletic Association. It's the 35th regular season win in a row for Centre, and the team's ninth shutout of the season.
Berry falls to 5-3-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the SAA.
HIGHLIGHTS

Abby Hegarty hit the back of the net in the 37th minute on a sliding effort.
Taylor Gebhart orchestrated the score after cutting through a pair of Berry defenders and finding Hegarty on a ball put across the goal face.

Meghan Paynter nearly doubled the lead in the 54th minute, but her shot was saved by a well-placed Berry defender.
- Centre peppered Berry's Maggie Jones throughout the second half, but the final 45 minutes went without a score.

- The Colonels amassed 21 shots and put nine on goal while allowing just four total attempts (one on target) from the Vikings.
