Top-ranked Mammoths end Centre’s dream season in national semifinal

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Centre men's soccer saw its historic 2019 campaign finally come to a close Friday evening, falling 3-0 against No. 1 Amherst in the NCAA Tournament semifinals at UNCG Soccer Stadium.

The Colonels wrap the season 20-4-1 overall, setting a new benchmark for wins in a single year, while the Mammoths improve to 19-1-2 and will have a shot at the national title on Saturday.

Among its accomplishments this season included the program's third Southern Athletic Association Tournament championship in four years. The Colonels then ventured into uncharted territories during the postseason, marching to the NCAA "Final Four" to mark their deepest run ever.
