NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. – Centre women's tennis faced little resistance in a 9-0 victory Saturday afternoon over Hendrix, winning their first Southern Athletic Association match of the season at the Top Seed Tennis Club.
The win improves the Colonels' record to 3-6 overall and 1-1 in the SAA, while dropping the Warriors to 3-7 (0-3 SAA).

Abigail Kent paired up at No. 2 doubles to defeat Cooper Chimbel and Greer Ayers, and the regionally-ranked duo of
Neha Rao and
Hannah Doherty followed with an 8-3 decision against Shelby Worsham and Rebecca Sherman at No. 1.

Emily Zelichenok and
Katharine Sherman completed the doubles sweep in an 8-2 victory over Sara Hoopchuk and Sarah Glass at No. 3.
- Centre claimed all but one singles match by straight sets, highlighted by Stallings' pristine 6-0, 6-0 win against Ayers at No. 3.
- Rookie
Grace Headley defeated Hoopchuk by an impressive 6-0, 6-1 score at No. 6, and Zelichenok handed Glass a 6-1, 6-1 defeat at No. 5.
- Kent defeated Worsham by a 6-1, 6-2 margin at No. 2 singles, while Sherman toppled Hendrix's Sherman at No. 1, 7-5, 7-6.
- Doherty dropped the first set in her No. 4 singles match against Chimbel, but rallied to win the second, 6-1, and the tiebreak, 10-5.
