NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. – Centre women's tennis defeated Rhodes by a 7-2 margin Sunday at the Top Seed Tennis Club in Southern Athletic Association action.
The Colonels (4-6, 2-1 SAA), ranked ninth in the Atlantic South Region, defeat the Lynx (8-4, 1-2) for the fifth consecutive season. Rhodes entered the match ranked 12th in the region.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre took two of three doubles bouts to claim an early advantage. At No. 1,
Neha Rao and
Hannah Doherty defeated Michelle Adan-Pol and Dasha Safarian, 8-3.

Emily Zelichenok and
Katharine Sherman won No. 3 doubles against Dallas Bennett and Caroline Yarbrough, 8-5.
- The first singles match to finish was No. 3, where
Abigail Kent defeated Rhodes' Caroline Doherty, 6-3, 6-2.
- Rao rallied from behind to defeat Safarian in a meeting between top-25 singles players at No. 2 singles, 1-6, 6-3, 6-2.
- Stallings would clinch the match at No. 4, handing Kate McGough a 6-1, 6-3 loss.
- Centre's Doherty pulled out a 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) three-set win against Bennett at No. 5 singles, and Zelichenok wrapped things up with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 6 over Tricia Sculco.
