JACKSON, Miss. – Millsaps proved too much for Centre in Sunday's regular season finale, winning by a 5-0 score in Southern Athletic Association action.
Centre slides to 5-10 overall and 3-4 in the SAA with the defeat. Millsaps entered the day ranked 13th in the South Atlantic Region by the ITA, and improves to 10-4 (3-2 SAA).
HIGHLIGHTS
- Millsaps' regionally-ranked doubles team of Brandon Beck and Davis Plummer defeated Centre's
Arpit Rana and
Danny Nelson at No. 1 doubles, 8-1.
- The Majors would go on to take doubles 2 and 3, as well, to take a commanding 3-0 advantage.
- Plummer, also one of the region's top individuals, put Millsaps on the brink of victory with a 6-0, 6-3 decision over Rana at No. 1 singles.
- Beck clinched with a 6-2, 6-4 win over
Adam Slone at No. 3 singles.
