NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. – Centre women's tennis dropped a trio of matches this weekend against stiff competition at the Top Seed Tennis Club in Nicholasville, Ky.
The Colonels (2-4) fell 6-3 to Oberlin, 8-1 to No. 20 WashU and 9-0 against No. 23 Washington & Lee.
HIGHLIGHTS
- The Yeowomen claimed Saturday's early match after claiming all three doubles bouts.
- The singles matches were split evenly between Oberlin and Centre, with the Colonels taking Nos. 1, 3 and 4.

Katharine Sherman defeated Dina Nouaime by default after winning the first set, 6-2.
Hannah Doherty dropped Delaney Black, 6-1, 6-2, on court three, while
Lainey Hill marched past Francesca Kern, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 4.
- Later in the evening, the 20th-ranked Bears proved a tall task in an 8-1 decision. Sherman paired with
Grace Headley at No. 3 doubles to claim Centre's lone point in an 8-3 win against Divya Sharma and Emma Sass.
- Doherty and Hill each took their WashU opponents three sets before falling in the tiebreak.
- Centre's weekend ended Sunday morning in a 9-0 defeat to the Generals. Sherman and
Caroline Lancaster each won their respective opening sets before falling in singles action.
