DANVILLE, Ky. – The Centre volleyball team earned a season sweep over the Millsaps Majors as they picked up a straight-sets victory in Alumni Gym on Homecoming Saturday.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Millsaps took an early 8-4 lead in the opening set, but the Colonels quickly tied the score and gradually pulled away as they took advantage of Millsaps miscues. Centre took its biggest lead at 21-14 on a kill by
Ellie Driver and held on for a 25-18 win.
- The second set played out in a similar fashion as the first, with Centre scoring five straight points to break things open at the midway point. The Colonels cruised from there, scoring the final four points as
Katie Hall put the finishing touches on a 25-15 win.
- In the third set it was the Colonels who jumped out to the big lead, scoring eight of the first nine points. The Majors could get no closer than three points the rest of the way as Centre earned a comfortable 25-18 victory for no. 15 on the season.

Brooke Palmer led a balanced Centre attack with 12 kills, with Hall and Driver each adding seven.
- The Colonels used a dual setter approach in today's match and it paid off as
Meredith Phillips finished with 17 assists and
Emily Gardner finished with 16. Centre held a 34-23 advantage in assists for the match.
- Centre's hitting percentage of .228 was the second highest clip of the season for the Colonels. The team hit an even .250 in each of the first two sets.
- The win marked the sixth of the season for the Colonels in conference play, the highest total in conference wins for a Centre team since 2016.
