Meredith Wickenheiser was named a National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-American, it was announced this week.
The Louisville, Ky., native earned a spot on the Second Team, becoming the ninth Colonel to earn All-American status during Jenelle Downs' coaching tenure.
Wickenheiser was named the Southern Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Year after recording nine goals and eight assists, also claiming a spot on the All-SAA and NFHCA All-Region VI first teams. The senior recorded a hat trick against Transylvania (Sept. 15), earned an SAA Player of the Week award, and scored at least one point in 11 of 15 regular season games.
As a senior, Wickenheiser helped Centre finish the season 15-4 overall while advancing to the NCAA Sweet 16.
