MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Centre men's tennis closed the regular season on a high note Sunday, defeating Rhodes by an 8-1 final in non-conference action at the Dunavant Tennis Complex.
The Colonels finish the campaign with an even 7-7 overall record while the Lynx slide to 7-5.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre once again came out of doubles play with an advantage, claiming all three bouts.

Matthew Bulow and
Danny Nelson represented the Colonels at No. 1, defeating Andrew Morton and Ryan Crump, 8-5. The two improve to 4-2 this spring as a duo.

Faraz Ghamgosar and
Ashton Whitt won their fifth match in a row, toppling Ted Hall and Alex Lloyd, 8-5, at No. 2 doubles.

Owen Alsup and
Newcomb Maddux rounded out the lineup in an 8-3 win against Joseph Haynes and Stuart Tuck.
- The Colonels had a much better showing in singles play Sunday, beginning at No. 1 where
Arpit Rana gutted out a 6-3, 6-7 (0), 1-0 (4) win at No. 1 against Morton. The senior improved to 7-4 in singles matches this spring.
- Ghamgosar completed his No. 3 singles match in a 6-2, 6-3 win against Hall.
- Nelson also won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2 in No. 4 over Tuck.
- Maddux came up with his first singles victory of the spring, dropping Haynes, 6-2, 6-1.
- Finally, Alsup took care of Thomas Ngien in No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-1.

Centre will face Rhodes for the third match in a row next weekend as part of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament. The Colonels and Lynx square off in the semifinals Saturday, April 24, in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
