GREENCASTLE, Ind. – Centre men's soccer bounced back from a midweek loss to defeat DePauw, 3-1, Friday evening at Reavis Stadium.
The Colonels improve to 4-2-1 overall while dropping the Tigers to 5-2. It was Centre's first victory at DePauw since 2016.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre totaled six shots in the opening half, but the two sides went into the break tied at 0-0.
- In the 52nd minute,
Taylor Nelson headed home a corner kick from
Sota Ippongi to open the scoring. It marked the freshman's first collegiate goal.
- The host Tigers scored minutes later on a corner opportunity of their own after one of
Haydon Korfhage's saves was rebounded for a goal.
- Ippongi broke the tie in the 81st minute, scoring a goal after
Ryan Roussel sent a pass across the penalty area.
- Roussel added an insurance goal from distance just seconds later – his first of the season – to make it 3-1.

- Centre came away with a 15-6 advantage in total shots, with a 7-3 edge in shots on goal.
- Korfhage finished with two saves for the Colonels.
