Centre overcomes halftime deficit to defeat Millsaps, 72-68

DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre women's basketball won its second in a row and remained unbeaten in Southern Athletic Association play Sunday evening, defeating Millsaps, 72-68, inside Alumni Gymnasium.

The Colonels improve to 6-8 overall and 3-0 in the SAA, turning in a particularly strong third quarter in the victory over the Majors, who fall to 6-8 overall and 1-2 in-conference.

HIGHLIGHTS
- The Colonels started 5-for-6 from the field, getting six quick points off the bench from Katelyn Stiltner.

- Centre went more than five minutes without a made field goal in a low-scoring second quarter. Millsaps eventually went into the halftime break with a 33-25 advantage.
- Momentum shifted in the third quarter, as the Centre defense forced nine Millsaps turnovers after the Majors committed only two in the first half. Payton Herold and Natalie Duggins each had multiple steals during the period.
- On the other end, Presley Chirico led the offensive with seven points, and as a team Centre committed zero turnovers.
- Millsaps led 46-45 as the last quarter began, but a 3-pointer from Herold on the first possession gave the Colonels a lead they wouldn't relinquish. Six individuals scored to help Centre seal the victory.
