Men’s soccer caps 2022 season in SAA quarterfinal

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Centre men's soccer team (2-11-2, 2-5 SAA) played in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Tournament Quarterfinal round on Saturday night, traveling south to face off against the second-seeded Sewanee Tigers (13-3, 5-2 SAA). The Colonels held the Tigers punch-for-punch until the very end, concluding the 2022 season with a 1-0 loss.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Sewanee came out as the aggressors on offense, getting two shots on goal within the first 13 minutes of the contest. Junior Jacob Camacho got the start in goal and was stellar, saving both of the shots that aimed to the low right and low center of the net.
- The Trinidad and Tobago native would collect one more save in the game's first half, deflecting a shot to the left side of the net in the 41st minute of the contest.
- Centre flipped the script in the second half, churning several opportunities at the net by pressuring Sewanee's defense. Conner Henry and Matthew Seran would each have a shot on goal, both being saved by the goalkeeper.
- The game's decider would come by way of a Sewanee penalty kick, the Tigers bouncing one off the crossbar into the net for the lead the rest of the game.
