Colonels can’t get past Rhodes

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Centre men's soccer team (0-9-2, 0-3 SAA) took on the Rhodes Lynx (6-1-3, 2-0 SAA) in Colonels' first game of two this weekend, traveling south on Friday night for the contest. The Gold and White couldn't find any offense in the 90 minutes of action, falling on a final score of 2-0.
 
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Lynx got their offense started earlier, but Centre's goalkeeper would hold them off for a bit as he saves Rhodes' first shot of the game.
- Rhodes scored their first goal of the day in the 24th minute of the contest.
- Hartman would keep the Gold and White within striking distance with a save in the 34th minute, saving a Lynx penalty kick.
- The Lynx would score the game's final score in the 51st minute. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Hartman's three saves on five shots against Rhodes on Friday marks his best save : shot ratio in his four games played this season.
- The Colonels couldn't amount anything on offense, the first time they've been held to zero shots in a single game this season.
- The Gold and White were able to limit Rhodes' attempts for a goal despite the final score, the five shots allowed amounts the lowest the team has forced in a single game this season.

The Colonels will have one more opportunity to collect a win before the weekend's conclusion, facing off against Hendrix on Sunday, Oct. 9. The two programs will kick off at 2:30 p.m. ET out in Conway, Ark.
