SEWANEE, Tenn. – After knocking our Berry in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) semifinal match on Friday, the third-seeded Centre women's soccer team (15-3-1, 5-2 SAA) took on top-seed Sewanee Tigers (12-4-1, 6-1 SAA) in the title match on Sunday afternoon. After falling on a 2-1 final score in their regular season matchup, the Colonels completed their SAA revenge tour by defeating the Tigers in penalty kicks 4-2 in the 0-0 draw to earn the automatic bid to the NCAA championships.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Gold and White were able to strike first,
Alexis Kronenthal getting the game's first shot on goal in the 20th minute. The freshman's shot was the only on-goal attempt of the half, saved by the Tigers' goalkeeper in the top-right corner.
- The Tigers got their offense churning in the second half, putting up two-straight shots on goal against Centre within two and a half minutes. Both shots were saved by senior keeper
Jonelle Barron, the shots coming from the bottom right and topside of the net.
- Barron would have one more incredible save before the end of regulation, saving a Sewanee shot in the bottom-left corner with 15 seconds left to send this game to overtime.

- After a second overtime period without a shot on goal, the teams moved to penalty kicks to decide the winner.
-
Maggie Corbett would be the first to try at the goal in PKs, sending a shot to the back of the net on the upper-left side pas the keeper.
- After a Sewanee miss,
Mills Mullen would extend the Gold and White's lead by sending a score to the right, the opposite end of the goalie.
- The Tigers would score one, but
