Colonels falter against Ealges

DANVILLE, Ky. – Coming off the win against Midway over the weekend, the Centre men's tennis team (2-2) faced off against the Asbury Eagles on Wednesday night at home. The Colonels could pull through and beat the Eagles, falling on a final score of 8-1.

The Gold and White sadly couldn't find a win in any of the three doubles matches, the No. 1 series being the closest margin of the night. Bo Bush and Jasper Gazzo would be the two Colonels in that series facing off, falling on a final score of 8-6. Matthew Bulow and Danny Nelson made an appearance together in the No. 2 doubles slot on Wednesday, their result being an 8-3 loss. The final No. 3 series resulted in the same score as the previously mentioned duo, that one being controlled by Jett Anderson and Emerson Dean.

The Colonels were able to find one bright spot in the singles matches that commenced afterwards, Bulow taking down his opponent on a dominant 6-3, 6-3 final line. Although resulting in losses, two other series for the Gold and White went into tiebreakers, the first being Gazzo in the No. 2 slot. That series finished in a 7-5, 3-6, 8-10 score. Ashton Whitt was able to make a comeback and force a third set against his opponent in the No. 4 series, that one ending in a 5-7, 6-4, 6-10 score. The final three series would only need two sets each to complete, Bush's No. 1 slot resulting in a 6-1, 6-3 loss, Faraz Ghamgosar ending his No. 3 singles match 6-2, 6-2 and Anderson's No. 6 spot ending in a 6-2, 6-4 loss.
