DANVILLE, Ky. – The Centre baseball team hosted the Hendrix Warriors in the rubber match of the debut series at Gary Wright Field at Fishman Park. Centre rallied in the ninth, but could not complete the comeback as they fell by a score of 4-2.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Warriors got on the board first with a solo homer in the third by Rail Gilliam.
- Centre picked up its first hit of the contest in the bottom half of the sixth with
Jamie Laframboise smashed a triple into the gap in left center field. One error later and Centre tied the score at 1-1.
- In the eighth, Hendrix retook the lead on another solo homer by Adam Bland and added two insurance runs to go up 4-1.

Mark Pyburn hustled out a bunt single in the ninth to give Centre hope, and later scored following an RBI double by
Jordan Gunter, cutting the deficit to 4-2. Gunter eventually end up at third, but could advance no further as Hendrix sealed the deal on the victory and the series.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Colonels managed just three hits against Hendrix starter David Blackburn, who went the distance for the Warriors.
- Centre starter
David Sickles had the best outing of his career, allowing just three hits and one solo home run over his five innings.
