MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Centre baseball team wrapped up its three-game series against the Rhodes Lynx on Sunday afternoon. The Colonels had numerous opportunities with runners in scoring position, but failed to get any of them across in a 3-0 loss.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Lynx quickly manufactured a run in the opening inning and Centre looked to respond in the second as
Josh Cunningham wound up on third base, but the two-out hit eluded the Colonels then and again in the fourth as Cunningham was once again stranded on third.
- Rhodes tacked on two more runs in the fifth after an RBI triple and an error, but the pitching took over the next few innings on both sides.
- Centre made its largest threat in the eighth as
Patrick Hope walked, followed by consecutive singles from
Jordan Gunter and Cunningham to load the bases with one out, but again failed to convert with runners in scoring position.
- In the ninth, the Colonels put the first two hitters on following a hit by pitch and an error, but lined into a double play to end the threat and the game.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
