DANVILLE, Ky. – The Centre men's lacrosse team (9-5, 6-0 SAA) rounded out their regular season with one more contest on South Campus Field on Saturday afternoon for Senior Day. The Colonels took on the Sewanee Tigers in the season finale, a spark in the second period blasted the Gold and White past their SAA opponent for win 16-9. Centre honored several seniors for their dedication to the Colonels, including
JR Brockman,
Ian Hubbs,
Will Morrison, Caleb Snyder,
DT Trowell and
Britt O'Brien.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS

Duncan MacDonald kicked off the game with a high note, slamming the game's first official goal in under 60 seconds of gametime.
- Sewanee found a groove after a couple more minutes of action, scoring four unanswered goals in about five minutes of action.

Ridr Knowlton would bring a final push heading into the second period, the Waxhaw, N.C., native earning a pair of goals in the final four and a half minutes of the first period. His first of the two happened to be in a man-up situation, both goals coming off assists from
David Caldwell and MacDonald.
- After the Tigers would push their lead to three opening the second period, the Colonels slammed 10 goals through the third period without a single response from Sewanee. Six different student-athletes would score during the run, sophomore
Paxton Brown garnering three assists.
- During Centre's big streak,
Will Hubbs would find five shots in the back of the Tigers' net. The 10-goal stretch would also include scores from MacDonald,
Max Speers,
Noah Malubay,
Mick Ginnity and
Ethan Hanna.
- The Gold and White would trade blows with Sewanee for the final 20 minutes of action, each team scoring three times during that span.
- In the team's final three goals of the contest,
Davis Wilmes would earn a goal as one of their two marks in a man-up situation, coming off a great look from Speers.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Colonels finish the 2022 season with an undefeated record in the Southern Athletic Association, continuing their stretch of now 13 games, dating back to the 2021 season where the team went undefeated in the regular season and won the SAA Championship.
- Senior
Will Morrison's team-high six ground balls collected marks a season-high for the Columbus, Ohio, native. Morrison now has 11 ground balls in the last two games combined.

DT Trowell found eight minutes in the cage on Saturday afternoon, collecting two saves on six shots faced.

Will Hubbs' five scores marks the fourth time this season the junior has a nickel in the statistical category this season.
- The Gold and White's nine assists as a team not only marks a season-high in a single contest, but now gives them 17 in the final two contests of the season. Brown led the team on Saturday with his trio.
UP NEXT
The Colonels will next take the field in the upcoming Southern Athletic Association Tournament, but will have a week to relax due to getting a bye in the quarterfinal round for their undefeated conference record. Centre will host the semifinal (Friday, April 29) and SAA Tournament final (Sunday, May 1) matches the week after, chasing a second-straight conference trophy.
