DANVILLE, Ky. – The Centre baseball team began the final series of the regular season as they hosted the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels under the lights at Gary Wright Field at Fishman Park.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- In the third inning, the Colonels got on the board first.
Jordan Gunter ripped a double down the right field line and eventually scored on a sacrifice fly by
Josh Cunningham.

Carson Werrmann got the start for Centre and pitched his way out of a pair of jams to finish his day, included a bases loaded predicament in the fifth.
- The Petrels rallied for two runs in the top of the eighth to take the lead. Centre had a prime opportunity to retake the lead as they loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the eighth, but popped up to end the rally.
- Centre again put together a rally in the ninth as
Luc Morgan led off with a single and
Jamie Laframboise walked, but the Petrels got the next three batters out to end the game.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Cunningham's sac fly was his 28th RBI of the season.
- Morgan had his best day of hitting all season long, recording half of Centre's six hits.
- Werrmann threw six more workmanlike innings while striking out six, extending his scoreless innings streak to 16.
