The Colonels defeat the Fighting Scots in a 4-0 shutout

Wooster, Ohio. – Centre field hockey (1-1) nabbed their first goal of the game early on Sunday, keeping their momentum for a 4-0 triumph over Wooster (0-1). The win marks head coach Grace Goodbarn's first victory with the Colonels. 

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Colonels struck first, finding their first goal of the game fin Ellie Dunham, mid-way through the first quarter. 
-Only two minutes later, Peyton Gahm got on the board for the Gold & White, reacting to a deflected shot from Olivia Broyles.
-Claire Martin attacked early in the second quarter, scoring her first goal of the game, third for the team.
-Martin rounded off the scoring for the Colonels with a powerful shot that stemmed from a penalty corner. 
 
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Centre put seven of its 14 shots on frame, while Wooster placed one of three on target.
- The Gold & White had the advantage in penalty corners with eight to Wooster's three. 
- In goal, Carlie McKenry and Sienna Joseph split time, resulting in a shutout for the Colonels. McKenry gathered one save in the first two quarters. 
- Claire Martin led the team in shots, landing two of her four shots-on-goal.

UP NEXT
The Colonels will travel back home next week for their first home game of the season. They will host Washington & Lee next Sunday, Sept. 11, at 12 p.m. ET.
