DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre men's basketball honored the 1982-83 conference championship team on Alumni Weekend and ended a losing streak as they scored a season high in points, defeating the Millsaps Majors by a score of 92-77.

Carter Baughman opened the scoring with a deep three-pointer and that set the tone as the Colonels shot well from downtown in the early minutes.
- Millsaps proved to be up to the task as they began to knock down threes and eventually took the lead, extending to as many as five points at 28-23.
- Centre rallied to regain the lead in the closing minutes of the half as
Marshall Taylor grabbed a tough rebound in traffic and stuck in a layup. Taylor and
Drew Wilson nailed consecutive three-pointers, but Millsaps scored a couple buckets in the last minute and the game was deadlocked at 39-39 going into halftime.
- The Colonels opened the second half on fire from deep as Wilson and
Cade Stinnett combined to bury three straight threes. The two teams traded baskets for the next few minutes before a layup by
Chez Moore and a steal and score from Stinnett kicked off a 10-0 run to put the Colonels up by double digits for the first time.
- Centre held the Majors at bay as Taylor, Wilson and Stinnett all hit clutch shots to extend the lead to as many as 16 points and squash every rally as Millsaps could get no closer than eight points the rest of the way.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Stinnett led all players with 24 points and tied Moore for a game high with 11 rebounds, notching his second double-double in the last three contests.
- Taylor delivered a career high with 22 points, including four made three-pointers.
- Wilson added 20 points, giving the Colonels three 20-point scorers for the second straight game.
- Centre scorched the nets in the second half for 52 percent from the field, 50 percent from long distance and 53 points. They also outrebounded the Majors by a margin of 46-35.
