KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Centre women's soccer team, currently on a six-game winning streak, has entered the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III women's soccer poll at no. 19.
This marks the first ranked appearance for the Colonels this season after the team received votes in the previous poll.
Centre is coming off a historic stretch which saw the squad outscore their last three opponents 15-1. A majority of those goals came in a 10-0 drubbing of Birmingham-Southern, which marked the most goals scored in a single game for the Gold & White since 1998. The squad currently sits at 11-1-4 overall and boasts a perfect Southern Athletic Association (SAA) record of 6-0.
On defense, the team only allowed a total of three shots on goal over those three matches and only eight total shots. In the BSC win, the Panthers were unable to get any shots off on the Colonel defense.
Megan Sidaway is the reigning SAA Offensive Athlete of the Week and is currently ranked 22nd in the nation in game-winning goals with four. She scored four goals over the stretch.
Bella Nelson,
Alexis Kronenthal, and
Nicole Limehouse also had multiple goals across the week.
The Gold & White host the SAA regular-season finale next with playoff seeding implications on the line. Sewanee comes to town on Saturday, Oct. 21 for a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff at Amend Field.
