Fast start adds to Colonel's win streak

DANVILLE, Ky. – Coming off a midweek win on Wednesday, the Centre men's lacrosse tallied yet another victory on Sunday afternoon. After a rapid start, the Colonels outlasted the Lions, improving to 3-0 on the year.  
 
HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre men's lacrosse got off to another fiery start, going up 4-0 by the end of the opening quarter. 
- Commencing the second period, Piedmont landed their first goal 17 minutes into the game. Centre countered with a goal from David Caldwell, adding two more from Will Hubbs in the following possessions. Nearing the quarter's end, both teams traded points, but the Colonels would score the final two goals to go up 10-3 at halftime.
- Out of half, both teams struggled to place a shot. With most of the action on the ground, the quarter remained scoreless until the final minutes. In the final 90 seconds, Piedmont rattled off two unanswered goals, cutting the score deficit in half. 
- The Lions continued their score run into the final quarter. Opening the scoring, Piedmont landed their third consecutive shot, putting them within four of Centre. The Colonels fired back with a 3-0 run of their own. Hubbs tallied his fourth goal before Ryan Black collected a pair, capping the final score at Centre 13, Piedmont 6.  
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Hubbs and Black led the Colonels in goals. The two matched one another with four goals and an assist. Mick Ginnity collected two goals while Caldwell, Griffin Weiss, and Max Speers took one each. 
- At face off, Dylan Croft dominated, going 16-20, he tied for the game's most groundballs with five. 
- The Colonels doubled the Lions in groundballs, taking 44 compared to the opposing's 21.

Centre men's lacrosse will continue their home stent, hosting Southern Virginia on Saturday, February 25th, at 1 p.m. ET.
