DANVILLE, Ky.– The Centre men's tennis (9-9, 2-2 SAA) kicked off their final weekend on the Centre Outdoor Tennis Courts on Saturday morning, hosting the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels for Senior Day. The Colonels burst out a perfect 9-0 sweep in celebrating
Faraz Ghamgosar and
Luke Pellegrino, securing their second-straight sweep of the season.
Bo Bush and
Ty Bush kicked off the Gold & White's dominance with the first win of the day, picking up their seventh team victory of the season off an 8-4 score at the no. 1 for the largest margin of victory in the doubles category. Both the no. 2 and no. 3 slots of the lineup had an identical 8-6 score, senior

Ashton Whitt, respectively.
The Colonels had several tight matches between their Oglethorpe opponents, but
Chase Turley and
Jett Anderson only needing two sets to collect their victories. Anderson had the strongest win of 6-1, 6-2 in the no. 5 spot of the lineup, Turley commanding the no. 6 slot on a 6-3, 6-1 final score. Rueff was the only other non-third set played in the singles category, winning by retirement in the no. 4 spot on a final score of 6-0, 1-0 (WR).
The top three matches finished in three sets, the Stormy Petrels claiming the first set in each match in the list previously mentioned. After falling in the first set,
Ty Bush surged past his no. 2 opponent with a dominant streak to push the three-set win on a final score of 3-6, 6-0, 6-4. Whitt was put in a similar situation at the no. 3 court but push an even bigger victory in the back-half of the series, winning 3-6, 6-1, 6-2. In poetic fashion, Ghamgosar concluded his Senior Day with a set-three sweep for the Gold & White, hoisting his victory with a 1-6, 6-3, 6-0 win.
Centre will have one more home match before their final road stretch of the season, hosting Berry on Sunday, April 11. The match has an approximate start time of 11 a.m. ET on the outdoor courts, but will immediately follow the women's 8 a.m. ET match.
