LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame announced its Kentucky Collegiate All-Commonwealth Team for the upcoming 2023 football season and five seniors from Centre College were selected to this year's squad.
This year's All-Commonwealth selections from Centre are
Christian Billiter,
Joseph Becherer,
Dallas Douglas,
Nick Grant and
Zach Reiners.
Wide receiver
Christian Billiter was an All-SAA Honorable Mention winner from 2022 after he finished second on the team with 22 catches for 272 receiving yards and three touchdowns despite missing a game.
Linebacker/safety hybrid
Joseph Becherer was another Honorable Mention All-SAA winner in 2022, his first season as a starter. Becherer led the team and was top ten in the conference in pass breakups while also contributing 34 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and a sack.
Defensive end
Dallas Douglas earned his first career All-SAA selection after finishing with 30 tackles, six tackles for loss and four sacks in his first season as a full-time starter. Douglas also tipped a pass that resulted in a interception return for a touchdown against Millsaps.
Defensive back
Nick Grant has been a consistent presence for the Centre secondary in both 2021 and 2022, not missing a game and starting at both cornerback and safety. Last season, Grant had an interception against Berry and finished with 20 tackles and three pass breakups.
Offensive lineman
Zach Reiners has been a fixture for the Colonels at left tackle in each of the last two seasons. In 2022, Reiners excelled in pass protection and ranked second on the team - first among rising seniors - in pancakes and knockdowns.
Centre football will open the season at home against Hanover on Sept. 2.
