Box Score Bryn Mawr, Pa. – Centre Field Hockey opened their 2023 campaign on Friday afternoon, traveling north for a fierce competition versus the Bryn Mawr Owls. Falling by a score of 4-0, the Colonels move to 0-1 on the season.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Bryn Mawr controlled the ball much of the opening half, placing their first goal early from an awarded penalty corner opportunity. The Owls would claim two more goals by the end of the second quarter, moving the score to 3-0 entering halftime.
- Out of the break, the Colonels' defense held Bryn Mawr scoreless for much of the second half, Centre goalie,
Carlie McKenry, denying all five of the Owl's on frame shots.
- With time running out in regulation, the home team was able to set in one additional, late goal that would solidify the final score at Bryn Mawr 4, Centre zero.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Owls led offensively, having 16 shots on frame while the Colonels had one.
- In goal, McKenry denied 11 of the 15 shots taken from Bryn Mawr.
- In penalty corners, the Owls created nine opportunities, Centre having none.
