Colonels fall at Millsaps

JACKSON, Miss.- The Colonels continued their SAA southern tour, traveling to Mississippi for their next contest. Trailing early to the Majors, Centre women's basketball suffered their first conference loss by a score of 69-58.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
-The game started at a slow pace. Centre's Emma Rose Vincent opened the scoring but was quickly matched by the Majors. Both squads answered one another until Millsaps replied to Katelyn Stiltner's late baskets with ten points of their own. Entering the second period, the score read 18-12 in the Major's favor.
- On trend with their recent contests, the Colonels struck hot opening the second period. Bailey Rucker highlighted the quarter, single handedly cutting the deficit to two with nine consecutive points. The Majors added seven late points to return their hold to five entering the halftime break.
- Millsaps carried their control into the second half, extending their lead to double figures by the media timeout. In the closing two minutes, Makya Grinter and Vincent teamed up for six points to bring the Colonels within seven entering the final quarter.
- The Majors continued to distance themselves in the final period. Nearly every Centre basket was met with one or more from their opponent. Adding six late points before regulation closed, the Majors claimed victory with a final score of 69-58.
