SEWANEE, Tenn.- After downing Concordia in a 3-2 overtime victory in the Collegiate Field Hockey Conference (CFHC) quarterfinals, Centre field hockey advanced to the semifinals as the no. 4 team. Taking on the no.2 seeded Mary Washington, the Colonels suffered a 6-0 loss, closing their 2024 campaign in the inaugural CFHC semifinals.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Mary Washington controlled the opening half, going up 5-0 on the Colonels. In the initial two periods, Centre's
Carlie McKenry tallied two saves in her five shots faced on frame.
- Out of halftime, the third period brought one additional goal for the Eagles, adjusting the score to 6-0 entering the fourth quarter.
- The Colonels made their largest offensive push in the final frame, taking six shots and possessing three corners. Although registering two shots on frame in the final period, Mary Washington's goalie halted the Colonels, freezing the final score at Mary Washington six, Centre zero.
