DANVILLE, Ky. – The Centre baseball team wrapped up their opening series of the season with a doubleheader against the Wilmington Quakers. The Colonels completed the sweep with wins by counts of 10-0 and 14-4.
Game 1: Centre 10, Wilmington 0 (8 innings)
- The Colonels broke the ice in the bottom of the third with a two-out rally.

Ben Prather doubled into the gap.
Evan Weyler then smacked a triple off the center field wall to score two runs, and later scored following a double by
Aaron Lopez that put Centre up 3-0.
- In the fourth, Centre had runners on the corners after singles from
Conner Jackson and
Jamie Laframboise. The Colonels plated their first run of the inning on a squeeze play by
Ayden Lohr. After a

Chase Austin lifted a blooper over the third baseman's head to score another run. A perfectly executed double steal brought in Cunningham and then Prather tripled off the wall to cap off the rally and give Centre a 7-0 lead.

- Centre again got on the board first as Prather walked, stole second and scored after Weyler lined one off the third baseman's glove.
- The Quakers took the lead with two runs in the second, but Centre regained the advantage in their half of the inning as aggressive baserunning created a pair of runs courtesy of hits by Laframboise and Lohr. Prather lined a base hit the other way to score Lohr and make it 4-2 in favor of the Colonels. The runs continued as Weyler doubled off the left field wall, capping off the inning with Centre enjoying a 5-2 lead.

- Centre kept the pressure on in the fifth as Cunningham drove in a run with a groundout and Austin followed with a beautiful bunt single to make it 9-2. A double off the wall by Weyler plated the Colonels' tenth run of the game. The Colonels added another in the sixth after
