VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Centre men's tennis earned three wins but ultimately fell to Virginia Wesleyan University by a score of 6-3.
After the spring break setback, the Colonels sit at 4-5 on the season.
The No. 1 Centre doubles duo of
Bo Bush and
Ty Bush won their third-straight match with an 8-5 win over Ole Behrmann and Felix Bevc. The second slot was close for the Gold & White as
Ben Rueff and
Ashton Whitt fell by a narrow margin of 8-7 to Rafael Rullan and Alen Curovic. The final doubles match was a 8-3 decision for the Marlin's Sebastien Muller and Tudor Vlad over
Chase Turley and
Jasper Gazzo.
Rueff won his second-straight No. 1 singles match, and fourth of the season, as he took a 7-5, 7-6 win over Bevc. The other win for the Colonels was a 6-1, 6-1 decision for
Isaac Flanery over Hubert Parawa in the No. 4 match.
Bo Bush found himself in a close match that ultimately ended 7-6, 6-2 in favor of Rullan of the home team.
Emerson Dean was also in a tight match as the fifth-slotted singles battle ended in a 6-4, 7-5 decision for Vlad.
Jett Anderson put up a valiant effort in the No. 6 slot as he came one win shy of forcing a tie breaker in a 6-1, 7-6 loss.
Jasper Gazzo earned six game wins in a 6-2, 6-4 loss to Behrmann in the third slot.
