DANVILLE, Ky. - The Centre men's tennis team earned a 7-2 win in a Saturday match over Midway University that shifted to the home court of the Colonels.
The Gold & White are 5-6 following the skid-stopping victory.
Bo Bush and
Ty Bush built on their impressive doubles record, now 6-3, after an 8-4 win over Izan Casado and Axel Sperling in the top-slotted pairs match.
Ben Rueff and
Ashton Whitt won their second match of the year in the No. 2 slot with an 8-6 decision over German Collado and Tyler Fox.
Jasper Gazzo and
Isaac Flanery fell in a close 8-7 loss to Aditya Roy Chowdhury and Daniel Pinzon in the final doubles match.
All but one singles match was a winner for the Centre squad. Rueff moved to 5-4 on the season as the No. 1 individual for the Colonels with a 6-0, 6-2 win versus Daniel Pinzon. Whitt won 1-6, 7-6, 7-6 in a No. 2 match over Sperling that needed an extra set.
Ty Bush earned his first win of the season as the No. 3 with a 6-3, 6-2 nod over Daniele Trentin. Flanery won 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 4 position against Chowdhury and the last win went 6-3, 6-0 to Gazzo in the No. 6 match versus Casado.
Bo Bush fell in the fifth-ranked match to Collado.

The Gold and White host three consecutive home matches spread over the next two weekend. The Southern Athletic Association slate starts with Sewanee at home on Saturday, March 30.
