DANVILLE, Ky. - The Centre men's tennis squad earned a second-straight win in a row with a 7-2 score over Asbury University on Wednesday evening.
The Colonels moved to 3-1 overall with the win over the visiting Eagles.
Doubles play was kind to the Gold & White yet again.
Ty Bush and brother
Bo Bush were the No. 1 duo for Centre and picked up their second win of the season with an 8-4 triumph over Franco Patino and Ignacio Ardiles.
Ben Rueff and
Ashton Whitt picked up their second win as a pair in the third slot with an 8-6 decision over Alejandro Caceres and Gregorio Bustingorri. In the No. 2 doubles, the Colonels pair of
Jasper Gazzo and
Jett Anderson fell 8-4 to Ben Moore and Andres Caceres.
All but one singles match was won by Centre in the dual match of Bluegrass institutions. Rueff earned win No. 2 of the season in the top spot for the Colonels by a score of 7-5, 6-3 over Alejandro Caceres. Whitt moved to 2-1 on the early season with a victory of 1-6, 6-2, 6-4 in the two-hole against Patino.
The next win came in the No. 4 match as
Ty Bush won 6-4, 6-2 over Ardiles, while his brother
Bo Bush won 6-4, 6-1 in the fifth slot over Andres Caceres. Gazzo rounded out the singles lineup wins with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Ardiles in the No. 6 match. Anderson fell in the No. 3 match as Moore of Asbury picked up two 6-2 tallies.

Centre will head north to Louisville later this week for a second-straight match against in-state competition. The Colonels take on NCAA Division I member Bellarmine on Friday, March 8 at 3 p.m. ET.
