ATLANTA - Centre men's tennis faced its first road Southern Athletic Association (SAA) match of the season and came out 5-4 winners over Oglethorpe.Â
The overall record for the Colonels moved to 7-8 with the win while the SAA mark jumped to 2-2.Â
Two out of the three doubles matches were winners for the Gold & White.
Ben Rueff and
Isaac Flanery, the second-seeded duo, finished first and delivered an 8-6 win over Figge Pernfors and Noah George.
Ty Bush and
Bo Bush were the next finishing duo and earned an 8-7 (7-5) win against Daniel Cohen and Sam Wasko in the top-ranked match.
Jasper Gazzo and
Chase Turley fell in the lowest seeded doubles match as they fell 8-7 (7-4) to Jefferson Page and Zack Raymond.Â
The first singles match to finish was a winner for Centre as Flanery defeated Page 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 3 match.
Bo Bush was the next winner for the Colonels with a 6-1, 6-4 decision over George in the fourth slot. Rueff earned a 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 extra-set win in the top spot versus Cohen.Â
Ty Bush fought hard in a 7-5, 6-0 setback to Bailey Raymond in the No. 2 match. Gazzo retired from his spot in the fifth-seeded match which gave the win to Pernfors. The final match, the No. 6 competition, was a 7-5, 6-2 loss for
Jett Anderson to Zack Raymond.Â
