ROME, Ga. - The Colonels of men's tennis are back-to-back winners after taking down Berry 6-3 in Southern Athletic Association (SAA) action on Sunday.
An 8-8 overall record and a 3-2 SAA mark is where the Gold & White sit after the weekend's slate.
The pair of
Ben Rueff and
Isaac Flanery has proved to be a winning one as the duo is an undefeated 2-0 after taking down Drayton Matus and Bohdan Higley in the second-ranked match 8-2.
Jasper Gazzo and
Chase Turley bounced back with an 8-5 result in the third slot over Aiden Benoualid and Jace Goode.
Ty Bush and
Bo Bush fell 8-6 to Noah Koch and Diego Lopez in the top-ranked match.
Centre swept the singles matches in the fourth through sixth rankings. Flanery won 6-2, 6-1 over Matus in the third slot of solo action.
Bo Bush also earned his second-straight win thanks to a 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 tally in the No. 4 match versus Goode. Gazzo won 6-4, 6-1 over Benoualid in the fifth spot.
Jett Anderson earned the final win with a 6-4, 6-4 triumph over Nico Koch in the No. 6 match.
Rueff fell 6-0, 4-6, 3-6 in the No. 1 singles match to Noah Koch while
Ty Bush dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision to Lopez in the second slot.
UP NEXT
Two more regular-season matches remain for the Colonels and both are on the road. The Gold & White face Hendrix on Saturday, April 20 at 11 a.m. and Rhodes the following day at the same time.
