DANVILLE, Ky. - It was a quick turnaround for the Centre baseball team as they played their second game in as many nights, this time against the Spalding Golden Eagles. Unlike last night, this one went to the visitors, who got the win by a score of 12-3.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Golden Eagles got on the board first with three straight two-out hits in the second to take a 3-0 lead. Centre answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the inning as
Jamie Laframboise led off with a double into the gap, eventually scoring on an RBI single by
Aaron Lopez.
- Over the next three innings, Spalding scored six runs to go up 9-1.
- Centre mounted an offensive charge in the bottom of the fifth as
Evan Weyler doubled off the wall in center field to lead off. The Centre catcher scored on a sacrifice fly by
Josh Cunningham, and then
Michael Lynch lifted a solo shot to right field to make it a 9-3 game.
- Spalding tacked on a run in the sixth and two in the seventh to finish off the scoring for the night.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Lynch's home run in the fifth was his seventh of the season, the most by a Centre player since Jordan Gunter hit eight in 2019.

Ethan McGriff saw his first action of the season and pitched a scoreless ninth inning.
