ATLANTA – The Centre softball team's
Mia Tomillo was named the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Pitcher of the Week in the final weekly honors period of the year.
The senior pitched a season high of four and one third innings in her win over Sewanee in the first game of the weekend series. She came into the game with the Colonels down one and was in the circle for the Gold & White comeback. Tomillo allowed no runs on one hit and struck out one batter to earn her second win of the season.
This weekly honor is the third pitching award for Centre this season and the fifth total softball weekly honor of 2024.
The Colonels are preparing for the SAA Tournament. The No. 4 seeded Centre squad will clash with the No. 5 seed Sewanee in first round action in Mount Berry, Ga. on Friday, April 26 at 2:30 p.m.
